Verifying Safety Properties of Differential Equations

چکیده
This paper presents an approach to verifying that a circuit as described by a continuous, diierential equation model is a correct implementation of a discrete speciication. The abstraction from continuous trajectories to discrete traces is based on topological features of the continuous model rather than quantizing the continuous phase space. An practical veriication method based on numerical integration is presented. The method is demonstrated by the veriication that a toggle circuit satisses a discrete speciication.

Verifying Safety Properties of a PowerPC 1 Microprocessor Using Symbolic Model Checking without BDDs
In [2] Bounded Model Checking with the aid of satis ability solving (SAT) was introduced as an alternative to traditional symbolic model checking based on solving xpoint equations with BDDs. In this paper we show how bounded model checking can take advantage of specialized optimizations. We present a bounded version of the cone of in uence reduction that works very well for verifying safety pro...
متن کاملA Dynamic Logics of Dynamical Systems
We study the logic of dynamical systems, that is, logics and proof principles for properties of dynamical systems. Dynamical systems are mathematical models describing how the state of a system evolves over time. They are important for modeling and understanding many applications, including embedded systems and cyber-physical systems. In discrete dynamical systems, the state evolves in discrete...
متن کاملComputing Differential Invariants of Hybrid Systems as Fixedpoints
We introduce a fixedpoint algorithm for verifying safety properties of hybrid systems with differential equations that have right-hand sides that are polynomials in the state variables. In order to verify non-trivial systems without solving their differential equations and without numerical errors, we use a continuous generalization of induction, for which our algorithm computes the required di...
متن کاملHybrid Systems
Hybrid systems are models for complex physical systems and are defined as dynamical systems with interacting discrete transitions and continuous evolutions along differential equations. With the goal of developing a theoretical and practical foundation for deductive verification of hybrid systems, we introduce differential dynamic logic as a new logic with which correctness properties of hybrid...
متن کاملApplication of Laguerre Polynomials for Solving Infinite Boundary Integro-Differential Equations
In this study, an efficient method is presented for solving infinite boundary integro-differential equations (IBI-DE) of the second kind with degenerate kernel in terms of Laguerre polynomials. Properties of these polynomials and operational matrix of integration are first presented. These properties are then used to transform the integral equation to a matrix equation which corresponds t...
